     This indenture made this 11″ day of March 1890 by and between Andrew Treadway and Sally Treadway his wife of Ashe County and State of North Carolina of the first part and Hilton G. Treadway of Ashe County and State of North Carolina of the second part Witnesseth that they the said Andrew Treadway and Sallie Treadway his wife in Consideration of the Sum of four hundred Dollars to them in hand paid by the said Hilton G Treadway the receipt of which is hereby deliverable deed has bargained and sold and by these presents doth bargain sell and Convey to the said Hilton G Treadway his heirs and assigns a certain tract or parcel of land in Ashe County and State of North Carolina on the water of Buffalo Creek adjoining the lands of John Henderson and others and Bounded as follows – Beginning on a Buckeye running North fifty six poles to Hilton Rays line Then East with said line sixty poles & to a small sugar tree Hilton Ray’s corner, Then North about seventy five poles to Hilton Rays old line,, Then running East with said line Ninety poles to a stake, Then South one hundred and Twenty poles to a Cucumber near the top of the main leading  ridge to the top of the Bluff Mountain Then to the first station, containing about Ninety acres.  To have and to hold the aforesaid tract of land and all Privileges and appurtenances thereto belonging to the said Hilton G Treadway his heirs and assigns forever, and the said Andrew Treadway and Sally Treadway his wife Covenants that they are seized of said premises in fee, and liens a right to convey the same in fee simple, that the same are free and clear from all incumbrances, and that they will warrant and defend the said title to the same against the claims of all persons whatsoever, I(n) testimen(t) whereof the said Andrew Treadway, and Sallie Treadway his wife have hereunto set their hands and seals, the day and year first above written.
