This deed of conveyance made the 7th day of February AD 1841 between James W Treadway and Amanda Treadway his wife of the one part and William Dean of the other all of the County ye Attala & State of Mississippi. Witnesseth that said J. W. Treadway and Amanda Treadway his wife for and in Consideration of Four hundred Dollars to them paid by Said William Dean have bargained and sold and do by these presents hereby grant alien and convey to said William Dean a Certain tract of Land Situate in Said County of Attala and State aforesaid Namely the E 1/2 of the SW 1/4 of Section 29 township 16 Range 8 E to have and to hold the Said land with the appurtenances thereunto belonging to Said William Dean that they will warrant and forever defend the Same to him and his heirs or the alience (sp) under him free from and against the Right title or Claim of themselves or either of them and against all persons whatsoever and the Said James W Treadway and Amanda Treadway his wife hereunto put their names and Seals on the day and Year first aforesaid

Between me A. J. Greenber and acting Justice of the peace in and for Said County & State this day personally appeared James W Treadway who acknowledged that he Signed Sealed and delivered the withing and above written deed as his own act and deed also appeared Amanda Treadway wife of Said James W Treadway who after being Examined Separate and apart from her Said husband acknowledged that She Signed Sealed and delivered the within and above written Deed without either fear threat or Compulsion from her Said husband but as her own account and deed
