This indenture made the fifteenth day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and five between John Holcombe of the County of Buncombe in the State of North Carolina at the one part and William Tredaway of the County and State aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that the said John Holcombe for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred Dollars to him in hand by the said William Tredway, the Receipt whereof the said John Holcombe doth hereby acknowledge hath given, granted, bargained and sold alien and confirmed by these presents doth give, grant, bargain and sell alien and confirm unto the said William Tredway, his heirs and assigns forever all that tract of Land situate, give, and being in the County of Buncombe formerly granted to Gabriel Keith by a state Patent bearing date the eighth Day of January one thousand seven hundred and ninety four containing six hundred acres which said tract of Land the said John Holcombe did Divide and sell off the following tract unto William Tredway one hundred and ten acres and a half acre? as follows Beginning on a Mountain Birch running West sixteen poles to a Maple, then North twenty Degrees forty one poles to a red oak, then North seventy seven poles to a sour wood, then East one hundred and eighty seven poles to a Spanish oak, then South sixty poles to a white oak, then South sixty five Degrees West thirty eight poles, then South thirty five Degrees, West forty one poles to the beginning. And also the woods, ways, waters, and water courses and all and every appurtenances here unto belonging or in anywise appertaining and Reversion or Reversions, Remainder and Remainders, Rents, Issues, and profits and of the aforesaid Land and premises and every part there and all the Estate, right and title, Interest claim property and demand whatsoever of the said John Holcombe of in and to the Land and premises hereby granted to have and to hold the aforesaid Land and premises with the appurtenances unto the said William Tredway, his Heirs and assigns to the only proper use and behoof of him the said William Tredway his heirs and assigns forever and John Holcombe for himself and his heirs, the aforesaid Land and premises and every part thereof against himself and his heirs the aforesaid and premises and every part thereof against himself and his heirs and against his claim or claims of all and every other person whatsoever to the said William Tredway his Heirs and assigns shall and will warrant and forever defend by these resents.
