Indenture between William Treadway and Charles Ison

This indenture made the 14th of March in the Year 1796 Between William Tredaway of Sullivan County and State of North Carolina of the one part and Charles Ison of the County of Hawkins and State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that for and in Consideration of fifty Pounds to me in hand paid the Receipt Whereof I do hereby acknowledge Have bargained and Sold and Confirmed to the Sd Charles Ison a Certain tact or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Hawkins on the North Side of the north fork of Holston River Beginning at a Shugar tree on the Bank of the River thence north 48 deg. East 65 poles to a Beach thence north 43 deg. East 28 poles to the Virginia line Thence along the Same East 70 poles to A Conditional line made on a Small poplar thence South 18 deg. West on a division line thence down the line to the River to a lime tree Thence down the River to the Begining Containing 150 less or more with all the woods, profits, advantages, hereditements ways waters and appurtenances Whatsoever Belonging to the Sd Tact of land above mentioned also all the Rights Title interest Claim and demand Whatsoever the Sd Ison his heirs or assigns Shall have to the Sd land and Every part thereof to have and to hold the Sd 150 acres all and Singular the premises above mentioned With the appurtenances thereunto to the only use of the Sd Charles Ison his heirs and assigns forever and the Sd Tredaway doth bind himself his heirs Extr to warrant and defend the Sd land to the Ison his heirs o assigns in testemony Whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal the day and date above written

State of Tennessee Washington County on the 14th day of March 1803 Personally came John Woolf whose name is Subscribed as a witness to the within indenture Before me David Campbell one of the Judges of the Superior Court of Law and Equity in and for the State of Tennessee who being first duly Sworn Deposeth and Saieth that he was presant and Saw William Tredaway the within named Sign, Seal, and as his act and deed Deliver the within Indenture for the use and purpose therein Expressed and that at the Request of the parties at the time of Execution he subscribed the Same as a witness Sworn to and Subscribed the day and date above before me let it be Registered April 16th day 1803 then Regist.
