Know all men by these presents that I William Tredaway of the County of Buncombe and State of North Carolina for and in consideration of the sum of twenty five pounds to men___ hand paid by Isaac Burlison of the County of Buncombe and State of North Carolina at and before the sealing and signing of these presents the receipt and payment whereof I do hereby acknowledge for my self my heirs do hereby bargain sell alien enfeoff (in lieu of?) and confirm unto him the said Isaac Burlison his heirs and assigns forever a certain piece or parcel of land in the County of buncombe and State of North Carolina,. Situate lying and being as follows: One Hundred acres on a branch of the waters of Big Ivy Beginning at a white oak on the East Side of sd Branch and runs west crossing the Branch eighty nine poles to a white oak on the side of the mountain then East Eighty and one poses to a stake then to the beginning which said piece or parcel of land with all ways woods waters and every other appurtenance thereunto belonging or appertaining I have hereby for myself my heirs executors and administrators sold set over, conveyed released and confirmed in open market to the said Isaac Burlison and his heirs and assigns forever and I do hereby for myself my heirs executors and administrators covenant and promise to and with the said Isaac Burlison his heirs executors and administrators or assigns that I and my heirs Executors and administrators shall and will warrant and forever defend the said piece or parcel of land with all and every of its members and appurtenances free from all lawful claim of any persons whatsoever unto the said Isaac Burlison his heirs Executors administrators and assigns. In Witness whereas I have hereunto set my hand and seal at the Court house the Eighteenth day of July one thousand seven hundred and ninety seven.
