To all to whom these presents shall come Greetings. Know ye that for and in consideration of the sum of fifty shilling for every hundred acres hereby granted paid in to our treasury by William Treadway have given and granted and by these present do give and grant unto the said William Treadway a tract of Land Containing one hundred and fifty acres lying and being in our County of Sullivan on the South side of north fork of Holsteins River Beginning at a sugar tree on the River Bank on Grey Haggerts line thence along his Line South ten east one hundred and forty poles to a white Oak and Chesnut tree, South forty west ninety poles to Peter Morrisons corner Ash Due, East along Morrissons line sixty six poles to a stake, North nineteen west one hundred and twenty two poles to a beach and sugar tree on the River bank and thence up the Same as it meanders to the Beginning as by the plat hereunto announced Doth appear together with all woods, waters, mines, Hereditaments and appear tenances to the said Land belonging or appertaining to hold to the Said William Treadway his Heirs and assigns forever yielding and paying to us such seems sums of money yearly or otherwise as our General assembly from time to time may Direct provided always that the said William Treadway Shall Cause this grant to be Registered in the Registered office of our Said County of Sullivan within twelve months from the Date here of otherwise the Same Shall be void and of none Effect in testimony whereof we have caused these our Letters to be made patent and our great Seal to be hereunto affixed witness Richard Caswell Esquire our governor Captain General and Commander In Chief at Kinston the ninth Day of August in XII year of our Independence Anno Dom 1787.

You are hearby Required to Measure and Lay off According to Land one hundred and fifty acres of Land for William Treadway on the South Side of the North Fork Joining above the Kentucky fording Extending up to Haggards Conditional Line to Include William Newcome Improvement Given under my hand the Seventh of Aprill in the year 1783.
