Declaration of Nancy Treadway in order to obtain wages of Pension

On this 13th day of December 1839 personally appeared before me David Nelson an acting Justice of the Peace for said County. Nancy Treadway a resident of Carter County aged Seventy seven years who being first duly sworn according to law doth on her oath making the following declaration in order to obtain the benefit of the provisions made by this Act of Congress passed July 7th 1838 entitled an Act granting half pay and pension to certain widows. That she is the widow of Robert Treadway who was a soldier of the Revolutionary War (has been made appear by evidence on file in the pension office of the U. S. he having drawn a pension).
On this 13th day of December 1839 She further declares that she was married to the said Robert Treadaway on the about 5th day of November 1784 and her and her husband aforesaid Robert Treadway died on the 1st day of November 1834. That she was not married to him prior to his leaving the service, but the marriage took place previous to the first of January seventeen hundred and ninety four viz at the time above stated.

Declaration of Daniel O’Donnell in order to obtain wages of Pension due Nancy Tredway at her decease

County Clerk June term 1845 Monday 1st
On this first day of June one thousand Eight hundred and forty six, personally appeared in this Court, Daniel O’Donnell a resident of Washington County, Tennessee, administrator for Nancy Tredway, late of Carter County, aged fifty three years who after being first duly sworn according to law doth on his oath make the following Declaration in order to obtain wages of Pension due the said Nancy Tredway at her death viz:
That sometime in the early part of the year 1844 or latter part of 1843 as he believes it, Nancy Tredway widow of Robert Tredway who was a Revolutionary pensioner of the United States made application for a Pension on account of the Revolutionary service of her husband, under the Act of Congress passed 10th July 1835-that the claim was rejected or suspended on account of proof of the marriage out of the service not being sufficient that the said Nancy Tredway died in the county of Carter, State of Tennessee the 18th day of February 1845-that afforsaid is now the Administrator of the said Nancy Tredway’s estate, and makes this Declaration in order to obtain the amount of Pension due her at her death, and claimed of the Acts of Congress of 7th July 1838. 3d of March 1843. and 17th June 184_ For proof that Affiant is the Administrator of said Estate and for proof of the death of said Nancy Treadway, he refers to the accompanying papers-
As to the proof of the marriage of the said Robert and Nancy Treadway, Affiant refers to the affidavit of Matthew Clark of Scott County Virginia and accompanying affidavit certified of the Clerk of the County Court of Washington County Virginia which certificate as affiant believes is in compliance with the requirements.
Administration Papers of Daniel O’Donnell for Nancy Treadway

In the matter of the application of Daniel O’Donnell of Washington County, Tennessee for letters of Administration upon the estate of Nancy Treadway deceased, widow of Robert Treadway late on Revolutionary Pension of the United States, in order to enable to the said O’Donnell to settle said estate and to make application for prior wages of Pension during the said widow at her decease for the benefits of the Heirs at Law of the said Nancy Treadway, it is hereby ordered by the Court that the Clerk if said letters of Administration to the said Daniel O’Donnell for the purposes above mentioned, and that he gave land under security as the law directs—-And the Court hereby certify from satisfactory evidence and deduced in open Court, that the said Nancy Treadway widow of the said Robert Treadway late on Revolutionary Pension of the United States, departed this life in the County of Carter state of afore said on the 18th day of February 1845, leaving the following named children and Heirs at Law to wit….John,, Leticia Treadway and Betsey Davenport residents of Carter County, Tennessee—–William and Robert Treadway and Nancy O’Donnell of Washington County, Tennessee—-Jane Lady of Sullivan County, Tennessee, and Susan Duncan and Elizabeth Treadway of Scott County, state of Virginia, and Sally Hardbarger of the County of Monroe and state of Tennessee, all of which is ordered to be made a matter of record.
