Ary M. Treadaway born June 1819 probably in Anderson Co., South Carolina. She never married. She was listed in the 1850 15 District, Cherokee Co., Georgia census living with her parents. Ary was listed in the 1880 Decalb Co., Alabama Census records living with her son James M. (listed as F. M.) as his sister, she 61, he was 28. She was then listed in the 1900 Dekalb Co., Alabama Census records where she was living with her son and his family. In that census it stated that she had one child, and that one child was still living in 1900. It also stated that she was widowed. Ary was listed in an unpublished book written by John Frank Treadaway. Once in reference to Ary and her son, the other two were from letters written by her brother Francis in 1902 (one in April 1902, and the other October 1902). In the last letter written by Francis to his sister Sarah Pullen, it stated that Ary died from paralysis 23 days after their sister Margaret passed. Ary lived to be 83 years of age and died in 1902. She is buried in the Beulah Church Cemetery, Dekalb Co., Alabama. Her son was:

Francis Marion Treadaway, Rev. born 09 March 1832 in Anderson Co., South Carolina, married Mary C. Spence. Mary was born on 01 February 1837 in Cross Plains, Calhoun Co., Alabama. Francis’ family was listed in the 1880 June Bug, Calhoun Co., Alabama Census. He wrote a family history, and it was published by Clarice Cox. Reverand Neale Lanigan-Pastor of the Four Mile United Methodist Church gives us the following information on Francis: A history of the church I have shows that Rev. Francis Treadaway was the first pastor of Four Mile UMC (then of course Methodist Episcopal Church South) after its 1884 reorganization, and that information was supplied by his son, Bob who apparently died at age 95 shortly before the history was written in 1962. Francis died on 21 December 1903, and Mary died 16 May 1916. They both are buried in the Four Mile United Methodist Church Cemetery, Calhoun Co., Alabama. Francis’ Headstone reads; “He was licensed to exhort at 17 and entered the ministry at 25 years of age, in which he labored faithfully until he was called higher.” Thank you Rev.
