To the Worshipful Court of Prince Edward County in Chancery siting Humbly complaining & hereth unto your Worships your Orator Moses Tredway that he is one of the Legatees of Moses Tredway the Elder, who died on the day of intestate and on whose estate your Orator on the ____ very of issued out letters of administration – Your Orator being remediless in Court of Law is compelled to come unto thy Worshipful Court and pray that your Worships will make Sally Tredway the Elder the widow of the sd Moses the Elder, Thomas Tredway, John Tredway, and Thomas Cobs an Infant under the age of twenty one and Sally his wife formerly Sally Tredway the younger Defendants to this bill being all the persons

interested in the sd intestate estate your Orator further prays that the sd Deft’s may be compelled to answer the prayer of this bill and on thus Answer or Answers being filed your Worships will appoint Commissioners today of assign and deliver to each of the Legatees so much of the personal estate of the sd intestate as by an Act of the General Assembly direction the distribution of intestates estates, they and each of them is entitled to; except the sd Sally the Elder the widow of intestate, who , your Orator is informed sets up no claim to any part of the sd estate and that on their report being made to this Court, your Worships will enter a final decree to the foregoing effect and grant the commonwealth writ of Subpence and all other find further releaf which Justice and your Orators case may inquire and he will ever pray, ve

THE Commonwealth of Virginia to the Sheriff of Prince Edward county, greeting:
We command you that you summon Sally Treadway, Thomas Treadway, John Treadway, Thomas Cobbs, and Sally his wife late Sally Treadway

to appear before the justice of our county courty of Prince Edward at the courthouse, sitting in Chancery, on the third Monday in March next then and there to answer a certain Bill in Chancery exhibited against them by Moses Treadway

And this they shall in no wise omit. And have then there this write: Witness, Francis Mattews Clerk of our said court, the 16th day of December 1809 in the 34th year of the Commonwealth

Agreeably to a decree of Prince Edward Court to us directed: We have examined the accounts of Moses Tredway Junr Administrator of Moses Tredway deceased, and find he has discharged the debts of said Estate, except a small account which he agrees to settle himself. And the personal estate we have allotted as follows, viz, to Thomas Tredway, one negroe boy Simpson valued to One hundred and thrity pounds and one old woman Anne valued to fifteen pounds, Furniture and stock to the amount of ninety six pounds: To Moses Tredway, a negroe man Isham valued at one hundred and thirty pounds, and a negroe boy Jacob valued at one hundred and twenty pounds, Furniture and Stock to the amount of one hundred and four pounds six shillings and four pence three farthings: And to Thomas Cobbs, one negroe woman Rachel and child valued at one hundred and twenty seven pounds Ten shillings, and a negroe girl Amy valued at seventy five pounds; Furniture and Stock to the amount of ninety one pounds.
