Shoreham, Addison Co., Vermont

         Know all men by these presents, That I Stillman White of Shoreham in the County of Addison, and state of Vermont for the consideration of fourteen hundred dollars, paid to my full satisfaction by Lewis Treadway of Shoreham in the County of Addison and State of Vermont, have and by these presents do freely give grant sell convey and confirm unto the said Lewis Treadway his heirs and assigns forever, a certain piece of land lying and being in Shoreham in the County of Addison and State of Vermont, described as follows viz.

     Beginning at the northeast corner of Reuben Cook school lot, at a state and stones in the center of the road, thence north on the original line of lots seventy five rods to Harods Newells South east corner in the center of the road, thence West 13° 30′ north ninety six rods to a stake and stones in Munson Points East line twenty rods South Lemon fair river, thence south 20° 30′ west on the road one hundred & five rods and a half to Munson Ponds north line, thence east nine and one quarter rods to Reuben Cooks west line, thence north 1° East four and one quarter rods to said Cooks northwest corner, thence East 1° 30′ south one hundred and twenty seven rods to the first mentioned bounds containing sixty two acres of ground be the same more or less, reserving for highways.  To have and to hold the above granted and bargain to this and their own use and behoof forces, and I the said Stillman White for myself and my heirs executors and administrators do covenant with the said Lewis Treadway is heirs and assigns, that until the unsealing of these presents to warrant and defend the same against all lawful claims whatsoever 

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 1st day of May AD, 1855

At Shoreham tis fourteenth day of May AD, 1855 Stillman White personally appeared, and acknowledgedged (sp) this instrument, by him sealed and subscribed to be his free act and deed.  Before me M W C Wright Justice of the Peace
