Shoreham, Addison Co., Vermont

         Know all men by these presents, That we Joseph & Elizabeth Treadway of Shoreham in the county of Addison and State of Vermont for the consideration of five hundred dollars, received to our full satisfaction of Lewis Treadway of Shoreham in the County of Addison and State of Vermont, do remise, release, and forever quitclaim and by these presents to have remised released, and quitclaimed unto the said Lewis Treadway his heirs and assigns the following described piece or parcel of land being & lying in Shoreham aforesaid to wit, bounded as follows, beginning at a stake standing in the north west corner of Lot No. 57 in the fourth division of lands in said town of Shoreham, thence south 2° 20′ west sixty eight rods and ten links to a stake standing in the west line of sd. Lot No. 57, thence east two degrees north, forty & one fourth rods to a stake & stones, thence north 4° 30′ west sixty six rods & fifteen links to Ozias Sanfords north line, thence west forty five minutes north, thirty two & one fourth rods to the place of beginning, containing fifteen acres and forty five rods of land.  Also one other piece of land lying in Shoreham aforesaid, bounded as follows, beginning at the south west corner of German Cuttings land, and in the north line of Davis Rich’s land know(n) as the Newton lot, thence northerly in the south line of said Lewis Morgan lot to Davis Rich’s east line to the north line of said Rich’s Newton lot, and thence easterly on said line to the place of beginning containing forty acres of land be the same more or less.  To have and to hold, the above remised, released and quitclaimed premises with the appurtenances thereof unto him the said Lew Treadway his heirs and assigns to them and their own proper use, benefits behoof forever, so that neither ourself or our heirs or assigns shall ever have any right title, interest, challenge or demand by virtue of any act or acts had or to be had done or suffered.  In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 20th day of September A.D. 1855.
