Henry Treadway was born ca 1650’s or 60’s and was of Gloucester Co., New Jersey. (Tentative) Henry b: 1655, Beaconsfield, Co. Buckinghamshire, England, may possibly be the son of Henry and Lucy Tredway of Beaconsfield, Co. Buckinghamshire, England (Thank you for your help Jared Treadway). Henry’s children match the names of Henry and Lucy’s. Henry appears that he married twice. Henry married first to Mrs. Ann Driver on 08 Sep 1685, Burlington Co., New Jersey. Ann had at least one known child from her previous marriage; Mary Driver. Henry married secondly to Sarah _____. They made their home on 100 acres of land located on Mathews’ Branch and Woodbury Creek, called Colburn. At the time of his death it was recorded that he owned another 100 acres of land located on the same branch.
Henry died on 25 February 1725 in Gloucester Co., New Jersey. After Henry’s death, Constantine Wood was appointed guardianship of his family. Sarah died in 1727, leaving her Estate to her three children. Information on this land and guardianships below was in a post from David Tourison on Rootsweb. Henry and Sarah’s children were:
1. Lucy Treadway, b: Unknown, Gloucester Co., NJ. She married William Kimsey of Deptford, Gloucester Co., NJ on 16 May 1737, Gloucster Co., NJ (7).
2. Henry Treadway, b: 1721, Gloucester Co., NJ
3. John Treadway, b: 1724, Gloucester Co., NJ
Query to all: Could Henry’s wife Sarah be a Wood or related to the Woods somehow? The Treadway/Wood connection travels down the line. Just a thought. Just trying to piece this together. Anyone?

Unto the Court of Burlington contrary to the Trust in them reposed to the perverting of justice to the fit examples of others, etc”. But the Burlington Court in a special session had already punished Treadway and his daughter-in-law (step daughter) for carnal copulation and the wrathful Gloucester Grand Jury could do no more than vent its spleen upon the apologetic justice who apparently had delivered the offenders to the Burlington authorities (6).
New Jersey Abstracts of Wills – 1694 Nov 25: Henry along with John Ladd and John Wood were witnesses to Jonathan Wood’s Will (16).
