     In the name of God, Amen. I John Tredway of the Parish of Stoke in the County of Buckingham yeoman being weak and infirm in body but of sound and perfect memory thanks be given to God for the same Doe make and ordain my last will and testament in manner and form following:

First and principally I commend my soul to Almighty God that gave it and my body to the earth to be decently buried according to the discretion of my executrix hereafter named with assured hope of a joyful and glorious resurrection to eternal life through the alone merits of Jesus Christ my only mediator and Advocate. As for my worldly estate I dispose thereof as follows, that is to say

First I give and bequeath unto my Mother-in-law Lucy Nolton widow ten pounds of good and lawful money of England also I give and bequeath to my sisters-in-law Elizabeth Nolton and Mary Nolton five pounds apiece and to my brothers-in-law William Nolton and John Nolton I give the like sums of five pounds apiece

I also give and bequeath to my sister-in-law Judy Tredway the sum of five pounds.

I also give and bequeath to my niece Ann Horton widow the sum of five pounds.

Also I give and bequeath to my two kinsmen William Fountain and John Fountain sons of William Fountain Senior the sum of five pounds apiece.

I also give and bequeath to my nephew Henry Tredway the sum of ten pounds and to his son John Tredway I also give the like sum of ten pounds.

I also give and bequeath to my niece Elizabeth Tredway the sum of ten pounds. 

And to my niece Judith Grove I give the like sum of ten pounds.

Also I give and bequeath to John Washington my day laborer the sum of five pounds.

And I give to my servant William Wood five pounds.

And my will is that the aforesaid legacies shall be paid eighteen months after my death and not before. And if any of the above named legatees die before the expiration of the said eighteen months then their said legacy shall be void and my executrix shall not be charged with the payment of the same.

And I do give and bequeath to my dear wife Lucy Tredway all that messuage tenement or cottage called Heather Lees with all closed lands, hereditaments, appurtenances situate lying in the Parish of Wooburn in the county of Buckingham now in the occupation and tenancy of Richard [?] to have and to hold the said messuage lands and tenements with the appurtenances to my said dear wife Lucy Tredway her heirs and assigns forever.

And I do hereby ordain constitute and appoint my said dear wife Lucy Tredway my sole executrix to whom I give all the remaining part of my personal estate after my debts legacies paid And I do [?] all former wills and testaments heretofore by me made and do declare this to be my last will and testament
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty third day of May in the eighth year of the reign of our sovereign Lord William by the grace of God of England Holland France and Scotland King Defender of the Faith Anno Domini one thousand six hundred ninety six.

The interlineations and obliterations being before made signed sealed and subscribed by the said John Tredway to be his last will and testament the stamp being thereunto affixed according to the act of parliament in the presence of John Meyer, Robt. Witholad [?], Ann Meyer, Elizabeth Meyer
