In the name of God Amen: The second day of February Anno dm 1633 I John Tredwayi of Cheynes in the Countie of Buck y[e]oman being weake in bodie yett of sound mynde and p[er]fect memory laude and praise be given to almightie God: doe make constitute ordeyne and appoynt this my last will and Testament in manner and forme following that is to say
First I comend my soule into the hands of almightie God whoe gave yt me humblie desireing hym to con%mon [?] with me his holie spirrit unto my lives end: And my bodie I com[m]it unto the earth from whence yt came to be decentlie buried in the churchyard of Cheynes aforesaid with suer and certeyne hope through the passion death & merritts of my lord and Saviour Jesus Christ of resurrection to eternall life att the last day: And as concerning the transitorie estate which yt hath pleased God to lend me I dispose of them as followeth:
Item I give and bequeath unto the poore people of Cheynes aforesaid the some of fortie shillings to be distributed amongst them uppon the day of my buriall att the discreton of my Executor & Overseers of this my last will & Testament
Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Starie the some of one hundred poundes of lawfull money of England to be payd unto hir by my Executor uppon the feast day of St John the Baptist next ynsowing the date hereof
Item I give and bequeath unto my sonne Richard Tredway the some of twoe hundred & %fty poundes of lawfull money of England To be payd unto hym by my Ececutor In and uppon the %rst day of November next ynsowing the date hereof
Item I give and bequeath unto my sonne John Tredway the some of One hundred poundes of lawfull money of England To be payd unto hym by my Executor within one yeare after my decease
Item I give and bequeath unto my sonne in law Thomas Starie all that my lease of all those my p[ar]cells of land lying in Cheynes aforesaid called by the names of Wybornes & Cookes held and all my Right title interest and terme of yeares in the said lease yett to come & unexpired.
Item I give unto my sonne in law Joseph Prince ii the some of Fowerscorepoundes of lawfull money of England to be payd unto hym by my Executor In and uppon the %rst day of July next ynsowing the date hereof
Item I give and bequeath unto my sonne in law Nathan Childe iii the some of fowerscorepoundes of lawfull money of England to be paid to hym by my Executor In and uppon the %rst day of Julie which shalbe in the yeare of our Lord God One thousand six hundred thirtie & %ve
Item I give and bequeath unto my Grandchilde Elizabeth Wooden the some of %fty poundes of lawfull money of England to be payd to her bymy Executor within one yeare next after my decease
I give and bequeath unto my grandchilde Thomas Wooden the some of %ve poundes of lawfull money of England To be paid to hym likewise within one yeare next after my decease: Item I give and bequeath unto my other sixteene Grandchildren the some of twentie shillings apeece to be paid to them likewise within one yeare next after my decease
Item I give unto my servant Elizabeth Barbery the some of %ve poundes of lawfull money of England To be paid unto her within one yeare nextafter my decease
Item I give and bequeath unto the Rest of my servants the some of %ve poundes to be payd & distrubted amongst them equallie within one yeare next after my decease
Item I give & bequeath unto my daughter (Anne) Prince the bedsted wherein I now lye with all the bedding and other furniture

thereunto belonging to be delivered to her within one moneth next after my decease
Item I give unto my daughter (Isabella) Childe the other bedsted standing in the said chamber with all the bedding & furniture thereunto belonging to be delivered unto her likewise within one moneth next after my decease’
Item I give unto my daughter Starie the bedsted & bedding whereon I used to lye with all the furniture theireunto belonging To be delivered unto her likewise within one moneth next after my decease
Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter (Rebecca) Carden iv the bedsted & bedding standing [?] & bei[n]g in yhe outer chamber and all the furniture thereunto belonging To be delivered unto her within one moneth next after my decease
Item I give & bequeath unto sonne Richard Tredway the twoe bedsteds & the bedding and all the furniture thereunto belonging standing & being in the Humett[?]chambers To be delivered unto hym within one month next after my decease
I give & bequeath unto my sonne in law Cornelius Carden ^his exer & assignes all that %rst yeares Rent of twentie poundes & %ve shillings which shalbe due out of –certeyne lands & tenemts in Weston in the Countie of Herts, next after my decease, and the second yeares Rent
I give unto my sonne in law Thomas Starie & to his executors & assignes and the third yeares Rent of twentie pounds & %ve shillings
I give unto my sonne John Tredway his exer & assignes and the fowerth yeares Rent
I give unto my sonne Richard Tredway his executors & assigns and the %ft yeares Rent
I give unto my sonne in law Joseph Prince his exer & assigns and the sixt yeares Rent
I give unto my sonne in law Nathan Childe his heires exer & assigns, all the Rest of the Rents yssues & p[ro]8itts that shall arise Remen or be concerning the samep[re]misses during all the contynuance of the termes of yeares in the lease to me made which shalbe then to come &unexp[re]ssed
I give unto all my sonnes & sonne in laws before named & to theire & either & only of theire exer & assigns to be equally divided amongst yearelie & only yeare during all the said terme
Item I give unto my sonne John Tredway the some of thirtie pounds of lawful money of England ^and one annuitie of fortie shillings which Samuell Frier ys to pay me yearlie for certeyne yeares yett to come and to my sone Richard the some of %ve & twentie poundes of lawfull money of England and to my sonne in law Cornelius Corden the some of %ve & twentie poundes of lawfull money of England To be paid unto them by my Executor In and uppon the %rst day of Julie which shalbe in the yeare of our Lord God One thousand six hundred thirty & six
Item I give & bequeath unto my said sonne Richard Tredway one score of my sheepe and three Cowes or beasts To be -delivered unto hym within six weekes next after my decease: All the Rest of my goods Chattels Cattell & other things whatsoever he unbequeathed my debts legacies & funeral charges beip being payd & discharged
I give & bequeath unto my sonne Thomas Tredway who I make & ordeyne to be my whole Executor of this my last will and Testament: charging hym to see the some due & truelie p[er]formed & done, and I do hereby nominate & appoint & loveinglie intreat my brother in law Edmund Trenuney Temil Treemilly & my loving friend William Rigsby to be Overseers of this my last will & Testamt in treating them to use theire best indeavours to see the saime carefully p[er]formed, and for theire paynes to be taken therein I give unto them twentie shillings a peece
