     IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN this seventeenth day of August in the Eighteenth year of the reigne of our SouvereIgne  Lord Charles the second King etc. Anno dom 1666 I Henry Tredway in the County of Hertford yeoman being weake of body but of sound and p[er]fect memory God bee praised for it, doe make and ordaine this my last will testament in manner and forme following

     First and principally I give and bequeath my soule into the hands of God my maker and through the Lord Jesus Christ my most merciful saviour and Redeemer my body I commend to the earth to bee decently buried aas to my Executrix hereafter named shall seeme [meese?] and for my temporall estate w^ch it hath pleased god to bless to bless mee with all I give and bequeath the same as followeth

     Whereas I have hereunto surrendered into the hands of the lords of the mannor^s of Abbott Langley in the said county of Hertford all my Coppihold lands tenemt^s hereditam^ts held of the same manno^rs to the use and behoofs of such p[er]son and p[er]sons and for such state and states intents & purposes as I the said Henry Tredway should by my last will and testamt, give and devise the messuage or Tenemt, whereon I now dwell and that tenemt with all the barns and stables & outhouses and appternces thereunto belonging and also fifty acres of land by estimate[i]on be they more or less the same appertaining now in the occupat[i]on of Nicholas Stransum to Mary my now wife for and during the terme of her natural life And after her decease to Henry Tredway sonne late of Willi[a]m Tredway of Rickmansworth deceased his heirs and assignes forever Upon condition that the said Henry Tredway his heirs ex*ts or assignes shall well & truly paid or cause or cause to be paid unto Elizabeth Tredway & Susan Tredway two of the daughters of Richard Tredway the severall sum[m]es of tenn pounds a peece, and to Elizabeth Berke and Hannah Berk two of the daughters of William Berk the severall sum[m]es of ten pounds a peece And also to John Richard and Elizabeth three of the children of my brother John Tredway the severall sum[m]es of tenne pounds a peece of lawful money of England The said severall sum[m]es to be paid to the said to the said legatees by the said Henry Tredway within one year after the aforesaid premises shall come to the said Henry Tredway after the decease of my said wife 

     Item I give and devise the lease of my tenemt and lands in Rickmansworth aforesaid wherein the said William Tredway deceased lately dwelt to the said Mary my wife during the terme of her natural life and after her decease to John Tredway Henry Tredway one of the sons of my said brother John Tredway, and to the Executors & [adude?] of the said Henry during all the time and terme of yeares in the said lease yet to come and unexpressed[?] 

     Item I give and devise all that Coppihold messuage or tenemt, and the lands thereunto belonging containing by estimate[i]on 6ve acres with the app[er]tan[en]ces w[hic]h I lately purchased of John Kempe lyeing & being in Abbots Langley aforesaid to the said Mary my wife for and during the terme of her natural life And after her decease I give and devise the said messuage and lands to Mary Tredway daughter of the said Will[i]am Tredway dec.d and to the heires and assignes of the said Mary forever. 

     Item I give and bequeath to all the children of my brother Francis Tredway dec.d that shalbee liveing at the day of my decease the su[m]e of twelve pense a peece to be paid to them my mine Executrix hereafter named within one quarter of a year after my decease

    Item I give to the poore of the p[ar]ish of Abbots Langley aforesaid 6ve pounds of lawfull money of England to be  distributed amongst those that have most need within one yeare next after my decease at the direction of my said wife and the Oficers of the Church and poore for the time being. All other my goods chattells & moveables—whatsoever & whomsoever my debts being paid and my funerall expenses discharged I give to the said Mary my wife whom I make full & sole Executrix of this my last will & testamt 

     And I give my loving friends William Berke of Whitchurch Esau Woodon of Rickmansworth aforesaid John Tredway of Tring John Hya of Abbots Langley to be Overseers of this my last Will & testamnt, to see it in all things p[er]formed And I doo give them 6ve shillings a peece for their panes In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & 6xed my seale the day & yeare 6rst above written.Sealed signed published & delivered as the last will testm.t of the said Henry Tredway in the p[re]sence of us Robt.
