Tredway; author of “History of the Tredway Family”, Crispin was the son of John [actually Arthur] Tredway. The two left Rutland, England for the colonies. John died at sea and Crispin continued on settling at the head of Bush River in Baltimore Co., Maryland. The book also states that Crispin had a son named Thomas Tredway (20). Another family story is that Thomas came to the America’s with a rich uncle who had promised him to be his heir. That uncle married a young wife with whom he had his own heirs. Thomas was said to headed out on his own and settled in Baltimore Co., Maryland. The latter appears it could be true due to Crispin’s death in England in 1738. Crispin was not mentioned in his father Arthur’s Will, however, it was customary in many Wills that the heir apparent was not mentioned as they would have inherited the larger portion of the estate (thank you Jared).
