In the Name of God Amen I Catherine Treadway of the parish of St. James Westminster in the County of Middlesex Spinster being of sound mind and memory Do make this my last Will and Testament as followith

ffirst I recommend my Soul to almighty God hoping for Merry and acceptance through the Merits of my blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ my body I desire may be privately buried according to the Discretion of my Executors hereinafter named my Wordly Goods wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me give and bequeath the same as follows

ffirst I give to her Grace the Dutchess dowager of Norfolk whom I have had the honour long to serve and five Guinea piece of Gold Coin also I give to Mrs Amrossallor and to the Widow of the Mrs fffuler’s Son and to Mrs Elizabeth Stork one Guinea each Also I give to Mr Patrick Monk and to Mrs Alice Thomas and to Mrs Mary Stork two Guineas each And in case I remain in her said Graces Service to the time of death I give to Mr John Cross one Guinea on Condition that he be then living with her and in like case  I give to every other of her Graces Servants that shall be then living with her one half Guinea also I give to Mrs Brunetti of Westminster late Servant to the Duke of Norfolk and to Mrs Mary Morrelli late Servant to the said Duke one Guinea each Also I give to each of my Executors herein after named the Sum of ten pounds Also I give to Mr Thomas Stephens of the Parish of st. James Westminster Ironmonger and William Lewis of the parish of St Margaretts Westminster and the Survivor of them and the Executors and

Administrators of such Survivor the Sum of four hundred pounds which is now placed out at Interest in the fform Office and also the Sum of one hundred pounds more In Trust that the said four hundred principal shall remain as none secured in the said Office for and during the Term of the natural life of my Niece Catherine Dufronoy (sp) And that the said Sum of one hundred pounds shall be place out at Interest by the said Thomas Stephs and William Lewis or the Survivor of them or the Executors or Administrators of such Survivor upon Government or other good and sufficient Security and that all the Interest arising from the said Sums of four hundred pounds and one hundred pounds from the time of my death be received by the said Thomas Stephens and William Lewis or the Survivor of them or the Executors or Administrators of such Survivor and paid to my said Niece Catherine Dufreney yearly for her Sole Use and benefit during the Term of her natural life And my Will and mind is that the said Interest shall be so payable to my said Niece only and not to any other person or persons to whom she might Assign over the same Also I give to the three Children of my Nephew John Butler fifty pounds apiece to be paid to them respectively when they shall attain the Age of twenty one Years and if either of them should die before the attaining of Such Age that then his or her part so dying shall be equally divided between the other two And if two them shall die before they attain such Age that then both their parts so dying shall go and be paid to the Survivor of them when he or she shall attain the Age of twenty one Years and if all the said three children shall die before either of them attain the Age of twenty one Years that then the said three several Sums of fifty pounds shall be applyed as herein after directed And my Will and mind is that my Executors herein after named shall and do place the said three several Sums of fifty pounds out at Interest on Government or other Security as they shall approve and apply the Interest thereof to and for the benefit of the said three Children equally or the Survivors or Survivor of them Yearly and every Year during their Minority  Also I give to my three Nieces Catherine Defreney Ann Rogerson and Elizabeth Rogerson all my Cloths and Wearing Apparell (sp) equally to be divided them also I give and bequeath to my Executors herein after named the Sum of thirty pounds to be by the m distributed to such Charitable Uses as they shall think proper And as the above mentioned Sums of four hundred pounds and one hundred pounds after the decease of my said Niece Catherine Dufreney and also of the three Several Sums of fifty pounds a piece to the three Children of my Nephew John Butler in case neither of them shall attain the Age of twenty one Years I give an bequeath the same equally to be divided between my Nephew Treadway Butler and his two Sisters Anne Rogerson and Elizabeth Rogerson equally to be divided between them but if either of them shall happen to die before such Moneys ought to be so divided my will and mind is that the share of such person or persons so dying shall be equally divided between his her or their Child or Children respectively when they shall attain to their several Ages of twenty one Years or so much sooner as

my said Executors or the Survivor of them shall think proper And that in the meantime my Executors or the Survivor of them or the Executors or Administrators of such Survivor shall place out the same on Government or such other Security as they shall approve and apply the nett produce thereof Yearly rewards the Maintenance and Education of such Child or Children respectively according to the Judgment and discretion of my said Executors And being fully persuaded that the said Treadway Butler Ann Rogerson and Elizabeth Rogerson will conscientiously discharge their duty to my Sister Elizabeth Butler their Mother by Assisting her with every comfort and convenience of life in their power and in order to enable them so to do I give and bequeath all the rest residue and remainder or of my Worldly Goods and Chattles after payment of all my just Debts Legacys ffuneral Expenses and charges attending the Execution of this my Will unto them the said Treadway Butler Anne Rogerson and Elizabeth Rogerson to be equally divided between them share and share alike but if either of them shall happen to die before such Division ought to be made my Will and mind is that the share of such person or persons so dying shall be equally divided between his her or their Child or Children when they shall severally attain their Ages of twenty one Years or so much sooner as my Executors or the Survivor of them shall think proper and that in the meantime my Executors shall place the same out at Interest on such Security as they or the Survivor of them shall think proper and apply the nett produce thereof Yearly towards the Maintenance and Education of such Child or Children according to the Judgment and discretion of my said Executors or Survivor And to the and this my Will may be the more easily Executed my Will and mind is that my Leasehold Messuage with the appurtenances situate in Hamilton Street near Hyde park Corner called and known by the name of the Black Horse Inn shall be Sold and that the said William Lewis have the preference in the purchase thereof And I do hereby order that my Executors shall not be answerable the one for other but such for himself nor for any involuntary loss by the ffailure of any Creditor or Creditors or otherwise And lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint the said Thomas Stephens and William Lewis Executors of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former Wills by me at any time herebefore made
