Deed Reuben Rogers to Addison Treadway}
This Indenture made and concluded upon this the 27th day of March Eighteen hundred and forty six by and between Reuben Rogers of the one part and Addison Treadway of the other both of the County of Washington State of Tennessee witnesseth that the said Reuben Rogers for and in consideration of a sale made this day by him to the said Addison Treadway for the sum of five hundred and five dollars paid by the said Addison Treadway the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and in confirmation of said sale I do hereby bargain sell alien enfeoff convey and confirm unto the said Addison Treadway his heirs and assigns forever all that parcel or tract of land situate in the County of Washington in the bend of the River Nolichucky commonly called the Horse Shoe bend and bounded as follows
To wit Beginning at two Lynns on the North Bank of the River then South eighty five west fifty four poles with the meanders of the river to a stake then South County for west seventy poles with the river to a stake then south forty then west twenty six poles with the meanders of the river to a stake then South fifty west twenty poles with the meanders of the river to a stake then south twenty one west crossing a sluice thence running with the meanders of said sluice as follows south twenty nine East twelve poles South fifty

six East twelve poles South seventy Eight East twelve poles North sixty East fourteen poles North eighty two East twelve poles South Eighty East twenty poles South Seventy six East fifty eight poles to a small sycamore on the bank of said Sluice near the head of the same thence North forty two East thirteen poles crossing the sluice to a stake Tucker corner on the North bank of the river then with Tuckers line as follows west twenty poles down the sluice to a stake then North thirty four East twenty four poles to a stake in Tuckers line then North fifty West sixteen poles to a red oak then North fourteen poles to a hickory & sourwood then North forty East forty poles to the place of Beginning containing one hundred and two acres more or less which tract of land was mortgaged to Robert J McKinney on the [ ] day of [ ] and sold under a decree of the Chancery Court of Jonesborough by the clerk and Master in pursuance of said Decree Now it i agreed and understood between the parties to the agreement that the said Treadway is to redeem the said tract of land from the encumberance (sp) placed upon it by said sale to pay all legal cost and for necesary (sp) to remove or redeem the sight confired (sp) on the purchase or at said sale which term of redemption is to be considered a part of the aforesaid five hundred and five dollars I do warrant & forever defend unto the said Addison Treadway his heirs and assigns forever free from me my heirs executors and all other legal claims that may be set up against this conveyance In witness whereof I have to these presents set my hand & affixed my seal this day & year first before written signed sealed and delivered in presence of us

Personally appeared before me W A Smith Clerk of the County Court of said County Wilson Sott & Peter H Grisham the subscribing witnesses to the subscribing witnesses to the within deed who being first sworn depose and say they are acquainted with Reuben Rogers the Bargaining and that he acknowledged the same in their presence to be his act and deed upon the date it bears date Given under my hand at office this 11th day of September 1846
