     Alanson J. Treadway & wife to Albert A. Fletcher – Mort Deed

     Know all men by these presents that we Alanson J. Treadway & Mary E. Treadway wife of the said Alanson J. of Whiting in the County of Addison and State of Vermont for the consideration of twelve hundred Dollars paid to our full satisfaction by Albert A. Fletcher of Bridport in the County of Addison and State of Vermont described as follows to wit.  All the Land conveyed to the said Alanson J. Treadway by Deed from Sarah W. Casey Executed the 12th day of March A.D. 1863, containing to the said Alanson J. Treadway by Benjamin Casey Executor of Joshua Casey decd. late of Whiting afd. by Deed as Executors of said Joshua, containing thirty three & one third acres of Land.  Also all the Lands conveyed to the said Alanson J.  William Whipple & Nancy Whipple his wife by Deed Executed the 6th day of April A.D. 1853 & recorded in the Town Clerks office in said Whiting  in the 5th Book of Records of Deeds on Page 481 & containing in the Last parcel seventy five acres of Land and reference May be had to Each to said Deeds & the record thereof for a more particular description of the Lands hereby conveyed.  To have and to hold the above granted premises, with all the privileges and appurtenances thereof to the said Albert A. Fletcher his heirs and assigns to his and their own use, benefit and behoof forever.  And we the said Alanson J. & Mary E. for ourselves and our heirs Executors & Administrators, do covenant with the said Albert A. his heirs and assigns, that we are lawfully seized in fee of the above granted premises; that they are free from all incumbrances, and we hereby engage he warrant and Defend the same against all lawful claims whatsover Provided Nevertheless, that if I the said Alanson J. Treadway my heirs or assigns, shall will and truly pay or cause to be paid to the said Albert a. Fletcher, his Executors, administrators, heirs or assigns seven certain promissory notes of hand all bearing Even date with this instrument & trade payable to the said Albert A. Fletcher or bearer, the first two notes for one in Each Year, in one, two, 3-4-5-6-& 7 years from date, according to the tenor of the said seven notes of hand, then this deed to be null and void otherwise of force.  In witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals this 4th day of April in the year of Our Lord one thousand Eight hundred & sixty three
