This indenture made & entered into this 31st day of January in the year of our Lord 1864 by & between Robert P.Tredway of the County of Clay in the State of KY of the one part & James Roark of the County & State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that for & in consideration of One Hundred & fifty dollars I have this day bargained & sold & by these presents does grant, bargain, sell & convey unto the said James Roark a certain tract of land containing 50 acres being & lying in Clay County KY on Phillips Fork of Red Bird & bounded as follows to Wit: beginning on a beech & maple corner to a one hundred acre survey for R. P. Tredway thence N87 W60 poles to a chestnut oak thence N35 W190 poles to a stake thence east 150 poles to a stake & to bind on a line of Wm. B. Tredway thence S3 W132 poles to the beginning with its appurtenances to said James Roark & his heirs free from the claim of the said Robert P. Treadway & his heirs forever. In testimony whereof we have hereunto set our hands the day & date above written.

I, G. W. Price Clerk of the County Court for the County afsd. Certify that the foregoing deed from R. P. TREADWAY & wife Elizabeth Treadway together with the 50 cents minted United States Revenue Stamp thereto affixed to James Roark was this day produced to me in my office & the same was in due form of law acknowledged & signed in my presence by the said Robert P. Treadway & Elizabeth Treadway to be their act & deed for the purpose therein mentioned & ordered to record whereupon the said deed together with the foregoing certificate hath been duly recorded in my office. Given under my hand as Clerk aforesaid this 7th day of February 1864.
