This indenture made the fifteenth day of September in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and three Between Daniel Tredway Yeoman of Harford County and State of Maryland of the one Part and Crispin Tredway and John Tredway of the County and State aforesaid of the other Part whereas the intendant of the revenue was by law vested with full power and Authority and was directed to sell and dispose of certain reserves in this State in Pursuance whereof the said Intendant exposed the same to sale and he the aforesaid Daniel Tredway became the purchaser of part of the said reserved lands part of which he held by a Lease called Tredways meadows lying in the aforesaid County which he had resurveyed the Twenty eighth day of November in the year of our Lord Seventeen hundred and

Ninety three and returned a certificate thereof called Hownslowheath for which patent was granted to the aforesaid Daniel Tredway the day of in the year of our Lord—– Now This Indenture witnesseth that the said Daniel Tredway for divers good causes him thereunto moving and for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred dollars to him in hand paid before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt he the said Daniel Tredway doth hereby acknowledge and confess doth fully clarly and absolutely acquit release and discharge the said Crispin Tredway and John Tredway their heirs executors administrators and every of them Hath by these presents given granted Bargained sold aliened enfeoffed released and confirmed and by these presents do give grant Bargain sell alien enfeoff convey and confirm unto them the said Crispin Tredway and John Tredway their heirs and assigns as Tenants in common and not as Joint Tenants to take by survivorship all the aforesaid tract or ! parcel of Lands called Hownslowheath Beginning at a Bounded chestnut standing on a ridge near a Branch called Grays spring Branch and running thence North seventy three degrees and a half West forty eight perches to a white oak North seventy four degress and three quarters West fifty Perches to a stone in a swamp North eighty degress west eleven perches to a Bounded Spanish Oak standing on the west side of a little Creek the Begining of Tredways meadows North fifty one degrees West Two perches and a half North sixteen degrees West thirty three perches North eight degrees West forty perches to a bounded white oak of Francis Henderson’s Land North fourteen degrees and a half East thirty Perches to a Bounded white oak of said land North fifty eight degrees and a half east ninety perches to a place South west three perches distant from a Bounded Spanish Oak of Turners dependence South seventy nine degrees east eighty eight perches and half to four Bounded white oaks of said Land ! South ten degrees east seventy nine Perches South Thirty degrees east twenty perches and a half to a Bounded Spanish oak of John Grays land South sixty eight degrees and a half West fifty two perches and thence with a straight line to the Beginning containing one hundred and Twenty eight acres more or less To Have and To Hold the said Granted and Bargained Land and premises with the preveledges and appurtenances thereof to them the said Crispin Tredway and John Tredway their heirs and assigns as Tenants in common and not as Joint Tenants to take by survivorship with all and singular the rents issues and profits and appurtenances unto the same Belonging or in anyways appertaining and the said Daniel Tredway doth covenants promise and agree to make do execute and acknowledge all and every such farther act and acts deeds conveyances and other writing for the more secure making and effectually confirming the said Land and premises unto them forever or his or their council learned In the Law shall be reasonably advised devised or required.

Be it remembered that on the 15th day of September in the year of our Lord 1803 came Daniel Tredway partie to the within Indenture Before us two of the State of Maryland Justices of the peace for Harford County and acknowledged the same to be his act and deed and the Land and premises above mentioned to be the right title claim Interest and estate of Crispin Tredway their heirs Executors administrators and assigns forever In witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands the day and year aforesaid,
