Seale 100 poles to _____, State of No. Carolina, Buncombe County. By virtue of the within Warrant No. 440, I have surveyed a tract of land for Aaron Treadway containing one Hundred acres – lying on a branch the waters of Big Ivey Beginning at a Whiteoke on a East side of the said Branch, and turns West Eighty nine poles to a Whiteoke, hence No. one Hundred and Seventy Eight poles to W.oak on the side of a mountain, thence East Eighty Nine poles to a stake, then to the Beginning Surveyed May the 8th day 1773

To all to whom these presents shall come Greeting. Know ye that we for and in consideration of the sum of Fifty shillings for every hundred acres hereby granted paid into our Treasury by Aaron Treadway have given and granted and by these presents do give and grant unto the said Aaron Treadway a tract of land containing one hundred acres lying and being in our County of Buncombe on a branch of the waters of Big Ivey Beginning at a White Oake on the East side of said branch and runs west crossing the Branch Eighty nine poles to a white oak, then North one hundred and seventy eight poses to a white oak on the side of a mountain, thence east Eighty nine poles to a stake then to the Beginning – As by the plat hereunto annexed Doth appear together with all woods, waters, Miner Minerals Heriditarments and appurtenances to the said land belonging or appertaining to Hold to the said Aaron Treadway, his heirs, and assigns for ever yielding and paying to us such sums of money yearly or otherwise as our General Assembly from time to time may direct provided always that the said Aaron Treadway shall cause this Grant to be registered in the Registers Office of Buncombe within the time limited by law, otherwise the same shall be void and of no effect. In Testimony whereof we have caused these our letters to be made patent and our Grant seal to be hereunto affixed Witness Richard Dobbs Esquire our Governor Captain General and Commander in Chief at Newbern the tenth day of July in the 19th year of our Independence and in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety four.
