I George Treadway of the Parish of ffullhamm in the County of Middlesex Merchant being at present somewhat indisposed in my health But of sound and well disposing mind and memory (praised be God therefore Do make and ordaine this my present last Will and Testament in manner and forme following (that is to say):
ffirst and principally I recommend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God my Creator who gave it and my body I commit to the Earth from whence it came to be decently interred and as to that Worldly Estate which it hath pleased my good God of his great mercy and goodness to bless me withall I doe hereby (to prevent as much as in me lyeth all suited controversie and dispute or concerning the same after my decease) give devise settle and dispose of the same as followeth:
Imprimis: Whereas I have surrendered into the hands lately of the Lord of mannor of ffullham aforesaid All and singular my Coppyhold Lands Tenements and Hereditaments heretofore purchased by me purchased joyntly with my Brother in Law Mr Timothy Lannoy within the said Mannor of ffulham to such use or use or as I should by my last Will and Testament appoint himself and declare Now I doe by this my last Will declare that In case I happen to depart this life before the said Timothy Lannoy that in pursuant of certaine articles of agreement bearing date the seventh of this now instant October made con___ and agreed upon between us.
I doe hereby give devise and dispose of as well all my said coppyhold Estate as also all my ffreehold and Leasehold Lands Tenements and Hereditaments Situate lying and being within the Parish or Mannor of ffullham aforesaid together with all goods utensils thereunto belonging unto the said Timothy Lannoy his heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns under and subject to such conditions limittations provisions as in and by the said certaine articles of agreement are particularly expressed and mentioned and according to the true intent and meaning of the same.
And as to my personal Estate my will desire and pleasure is that after all my Debts and ffunerall charges are thereout first paid and deducted the same be divided into three equall parts or shares whereof.
Item: I give and bequeath on equal third part or share unto my dear and most loving wife Anne Tredway according to the custome of London.
Item: I give and bequeath one other equal third part or share unto my well beloved Children George Timothy Anne Elizabeth Catherine and Mary Treadway share and share alike my said sonns to have and receive their shares when the shall attaine unto their respective of one and twenty years and my said daughters to receive theirs when they arrive to the respective age of eighteen years or be marryed by and with the consent and approbation of my Executrix and Trusted hereinafter named or of any two or or the last Survivor of them And in case any of my said Children shall happen to dye before attaining unto such age or marriage as aforesaid Then my will is that the part share of him her or them soe dying shall goe to the Survivors or Survivor of my said Children share and share alike reserveing always and my will being that none of my Daughters (being at the time as such deceased marryed) or her husband shall have any immediate benefit by such survivorshipp excepting the growing product from time to time of such falling share or shares But that the share accrewing to them thereby shall be secured and setled unto and upon such marryed Daughter and her Issue without her husbands intermedling therewith unless my Executrix and Trustees shall think fit to order and allow it otherwise.
Item: as to the remaining third part of my personall Estate (the particular Legacy hereinafter bequeathed thereout first paid and discounted) I give and bequeath the same to my said Executrix hereunder named to the intent and purpose that my said Executrix may and shall by and with the same put in keep and continue a sufficient start in the joynt Trade with my said Brother Mr. Timothy Lannoy according to tenour and purport of the said recited articles of agreement and for such longer time as she and my Trustees shall think fitting and alsoe that she may and out of as well the produce of such start as by and out of the Interest and the produce of the Legacyes herein before by me given to my said Children take care to provide for the maintenance and duration of them my said Children untill the shall come to the possession of their owne respective Estate herein before given them and to the Further intent and purpose that she my said Executrix with the consent and approbations of both my said Trustees or the Survivor of them may (after the expiration of the said joynt Trade) distribute give and dispose of the said start in Trade or any part thereof or any other rest or residue of the said last remaining third part of my personal Estate to such of my said Child or Children as she and the said Trust so shall think most deserving of it.
Item: I do give to my Sister Broxholine the sume of tenn pounds __ Anno during her Life And doe will and order that a competent maintenance be allowed unto her sonn Noell Broxholine untill he be elected to be removed from Westminster School to one of the Universityes.
I give unto my Sister Kelly [Kellian?] in the sume of Twenty pounds besides mourning And I doe hereby recommend the care and advancement of her sonn George Kellian to the kindness and friendshipp of my Executrix of this my last Will and Testament.
And I doe hereby make ordaine and appoint my dear wife Anne Treadway full and sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament and my loving brothers in Law the said Timothy Lannoy and Mr. Samuel Lanne to be Trustees thereof requesting them to be ayding and assisting to my said Executrix in the due execution of this my last Will And my further will and meaning is that my said Executrix shall have power by and with the advise approbate of my said Trustee above named or survivor of them to put out manage and improve the said Stork in Trade and other Legacyes and Estate by me herein before given to my said Children to the Best benefit and advantage she can for them untill such time as they will respectively come to the enjoyment thereof themselves But soe that my said Executrix shall not be or lyable out of her own proper Estate to answer or make good any miscarriages or losses which shall or thereby maybe happen by reason of failure of Securityes for their moneys or anywise nor as charges occasioned by her due executions of this my last Will.
And I doe hereby revoke and make void all former Wills and Bequests by me at any time heretofore made or given and and doe confirme and declare this present to be my very last Will and noe other nor otherwise.
In Witness whereof I the said George Treadway have to the first sheet of this my last Will set my hand and to this second sheet thereof set my hand and seale this seventeenth day of October in the first yeare of our Souveraigne Lady Queen Anne over England or Anno Dm 1702
